Mythic Tease Their Next Big Project With Steamwatchers

Mythic Games has been previewing a new game which is going to be popping up on Kickstarter soon. Steamwatchers is one that we’re, quite appropriately, watching closely.
Here is some of the background behind this particular game…
“Europa is frozen, covered in snow, caught in an unending winter – some call it the Final Ice Age. You and your clan strive to survive in this hostile world. And in the middle of all this ice, Oases of heat, Steam columns. Will you be able to harness their power and lead your clan to survival? Will you manage to handle the Bane, or will your body wither? And most of all, will you overcome the other clans?”
Leo from Mythic Games dived in to talk more about the project which has been designed alongside Marc Lagroy. This time around they’re looking to explore a different board game than they’ve typically developed. Here we’re looking at a game which employs a few more Euro mechanics with conquest, strategy, and asymmetrical factions which gives you plenty of replay value.
There was this sneaky look at what I assume is an early version of the game here available with a little bit of searching online...
It looks like this could be a lot of fun and I am always interested in what Mythic have in their back pocket to offer the tabletop community. I’m sure we’ll find out more ahead of the release of the Kickstarter in March.

I’m always interested to see what MYthic come up with next. Their marketing is second to none ans so far the games have been pretty good too. I’ll be keeping an eye out for this so hopefully we’ll get more updates in the news feed.
