World War III – Team Yankee Rulebook Chat
February 17, 2020 by johnlyons
Battlefront Games are in the studio to talk about their newest edition of World War III: Team Yankee.
John is joined by Chris to go through the rulebook for Team Yankee to see what changes and updates have been made. One of the most important things for John about Team Yankee is how shows the escalation of warfare from Battlefront's main catalogue of games from The Great War to Flames of War and finally to Team Yankee. The guys talk about how this new version helps veterans bring newer players to the tabletop.
What front would you like to experiment with in Team Yankee?

I have been wanting to do a 3DW Games ‘Light Division’ game. It has Americans fighting Iranians and potentially Russians over fuel shipping lanes.
Another cool what-if is China invading Taiwan.
the changes to the rules sound great for the game.
So have they changed the rules in anyway to stop endless track to track gunlines?
Still think having artillery on the table is a silly idea
I wonder, if I own the first version of the rule book, will it be enough to get the new unit cards to be able to play version two?
The best army in WW III is the Iranians, because in this army you can have British, American and Soviet tanks all in one force. For the uninitiated, the Iranians are in the supplement Oil War, which does not only include Israel, Iraq (and Syria) and Iran into WW III, but it also covers the historical Gulf War between Iran and Iraq from 1980 to 1988.
