Monolith Aim To Bring Conan Back To Kickstarter Soon
February 5, 2020 by brennon
Monolith Edition has taken onboard word from the community and looks to be bringing Conan back to Kickstarter with the new Conqueror campaign.
The campaign is set for later this month on February 17th and will be an expansion to the existing Conan experience. As you can see, there will be a limited amount of options from the core Conan campaign available for backers but the real meat of it all comes as part of the Conan The Conquerer Mega-Expansion which adds to the game.
The new miniatures are nice but the real focus is on the Adventure Mode, Solo/Co-Op Content and what that offers. People really enjoyed the core mechanics of what Monolith was doing back in 2015 and it is great to see them building on that with the offer of campaign-style content and more to help those who like that element of the game. Let's be honest, pretty much everyone does.
I am looking forward to what they have planned as Conan is a game which is still in my collection but I'd love to play more, especially if it can be linked together in some way between scenarios. Maybe I will break out those models again and do a bit more painting!
What do you think of the news?

I’m very pleased Conan is on his way back.I still have reservations, but i’m hopeful that Monolith have listened and that what became known as Adventure Mode will grow with this upcoming KS.
Good that they finally listened to the forums and community. Would have saved them the issues they had with the more ambitious more confusing campaign if they had listened the first go around.
I don’t think they have listened, or rather if they have this move doesn’t necessarily imply that is the case. The biggest complaint on the last kickstarter wasn’t that people did not want the versus mode system, it was people who already owned the game feeling short changed by being asked to buy a load of miniatures that they already bought back in 2015. That’s why so many people simply backed for the Legacy pledge – it was the only option there that didn’t mean having to pay for stuff you already own whilst still getting some new content. I bought Conan at retail, but not got around to playing it yet… wasn’t sure how it would fit with my players and they rules were a disaster… Be nice if companies put as much effort into the rules as they did promoting the plastic content… plastic is ok, but it needs the game too. I ended up using some of the minis for a short lived Modiphius Conan RPG game, but that system sucks. If Conan is KS only I won’t be touching it. It needs to be something amazing on KS now to draw me in and I’ve… Read more »
Having backed most things Monolith have put out I’ll probably have a serious look at this. The plastic is pretty good for the money and the addition of the other rule modes is a good thing. I’m still waiting for elements of the Mythic Battles: Pantheon 1.5 Upgrade though and that will count against them if they can’t sort it out before the new launch. Edit: Having just checked in on the above mentioned KS there is a somewhat disturbing comment from the Monolith creator account: “Support is snowed and head office is focused on the next KS so that… Read more »
Sounds good.
