This game, for two-to-four players as you take on the role of heroes who are searching for an ancient tome which has been lost. The pages were torn out and scattered throughout time to protect humanity and so now you must try and bring them together in order to change the fate of the world.

A large amount of the game is based around the idea of exploration and area control as you search for the pages as well as plenty of fighting, resource management and even an element of negotiation and trading too. There are a few routes to victory, either by being the last hero standing on the board or collecting together the various pages in order to complete your objective.

The core game (shown above) comes with around 234 miniatures to build your armies with but you'll also have access to loads of expansion characters too as part of the Kickstarter.

If you're not a fan of miniatures and just want to dive into this game with more traditional meeples then you can also get yourself a different take on the game. So, make sure to check that out if you're looking to avoid the mounting pile of plastic we're all faced with on Kickstarter these days!

It is worth delving into their Kickstarter in order to find out more and check out some of the additional options they have for backers. Most importantly, they have talked about the fact that they have been taking on responses from playtesters and reviewers so the state of the game rules is still in flux.

It will all be sharpened and tweaked before the game gets released, which is good to see.

Let's Do The Time Warp Again!

Talking of cool rules and mechanics. One of the coolest mechanics in the game is the ability to time jump. This allows you to go either back or forward through 'time' to different rounds where you might be able to poach particular pages from the book. They are an interesting narrative element that heightens the risk and reward side of the game. If you're not careful and don't monitor your resources you might get lost in space and time and be vanquished!
