Riot Tabletop Tease New Game, Tellstones: King’s Gambit
January 13, 2020 by brennon
Riot Games, makers of League Of Legends, are looking back to the tabletop once more. Mechs Vs Minions was the first foray into the world of tabletop gaming and it went down a storm. Their next project, Tellstones: King’s Gambit is now on the horizon.
This new game is going to be one of many that Riot Tabletop are working on and will be a bluffing game for two-to-four players. Whereas the first game, Mechs VS Minions, was a big cooperative affair stuffed with miniatures, this is a much tighter and smaller experience which plays faster. Competitive or cooperative, it seems Riot have their sights set on lots of fun goodies.
The tabletop world is becoming more and more appealing to those in the digital realm and we're seeing lots of folks turning to these games to both enhance and build on the nerd experience. A lot of people who play video games play a lot of board and card games too, especially nowadays, so it makes sense to blend the two worlds together and get more people spending time around a tabletop as well as plugged in online.
What do you think to the news from Riot and have you played Mechs Vs Minions?

Could be fun.
I’m thinking the major draw for this game will be the opportunity to have miniatures of the characters, but it could be interesting to see how Riot translates LoL into a board game.
