Surprise Plastic Afghan Warriors Pop Up From Wargames Altantic
January 2, 2020 by brennon
Wargames Atlantic had a bit of a surprise for us recently as they showed off their new Afghan Warriors which they are going to be hopefully launching in February of this year.
You might notice that these particular previews have been painted up by our very own suetoniuspaullinus and give you a good look at how they measure up with their array of different weapon options. You can also see some of them here alongside a miniature from the Perry range.
As well as a look at some of the finished models we also got a peek at how the sprues for these particular soldiers is going to look as well. Once again, Wargames Atlantic are offering up a neat array of options for those who like delving in and tinkering with their builds.
The set will allow you to build forty Afghan Warriors with a selection of swords and other blades plus muskets, jezzails or Martini-Henry Rifles. If you're looking to play out more of the conflicts from the late 1800s then this seems like a good option for you to throw into the mix, a nice selection which offers up the clash between the old and the new.
What do you think of the set?

The Khazi of Kalabar’s finest ready to take on the devils in skirts!
Excellent news! I’d been looking for some plastic afghans, couldn’t find any and was hoping somebody would make some. Ill be buying at least two for use with The Men Who Would Be Kings.
Really looking forward to these!!! Got some Brits for the Sudan so being able to play a few games set in Afghanistan be great! Modelling some mountain passes and the like (maybe using Brother Lloyd’s foam) will also make for an interesting project…
Being able to equip them with jezzails opens up some interesting options – provincial troops from the Ottoman Empire for the Greek War of Independence for example? Look forward to getting my hands on em anyway…
Been hoping someone would do this for some time.
will have to take a look at replacing the weapons with ak47s and rpg7s ….to use in modern day settings and games.
I think they could be good for WWI with Laurence of Arabia army’s
a bit of a stretch – why would you want to when there’s so much untouched potential with the the era of “the great game” between england, north west india/afghanistan and russia
just thinking.
