Victrix Set Out Dark Age & Ancient Previews For The Future
December 19, 2019 by brennon
Victrix has been previewing some more options for those diving into wargaming in either the Dark Age or Ancient period. We start with another look at what's coming on the plastic front for the Norman kit which is in the works.
Here we have a look at a soldier which would have been fighting on the fields of Hastings and the like, taking the clash of arms to the Anglo-Saxons. Additionally, as the Normans then had an influence in the burgeoning Medieval period there are options in the mix to play this warrior as a soldier from the 1st Crusades or perhaps from different European nations. You could have this warrior fighting in Sicily or Greece for example according to Victrix.
Persian Commanders
As well as this, we also got a look at some more render work from the upcoming Persian kit including some command figures who will be taking charge.
This particular offering sees a Perian Officer and/or Standard Bearer. He is adorned with some more upmarket gear to show his status. You could imagine these folks taking control at the front of your force, ordering your warriors to battle on against their foes. The same goes for their Musician which was also previewed recently...
A Musician might rally the troops but they will also be there to sound out orders. The din of the battlefield will end up being confusing in the midst of the fighting so having a sharp sound blaring out would be able to cut through all of that.
What do you think?

I really like the look of the Persians. The Normans don’t have honeycomb mail… they might go on the to buy list! Well done Victrix!
Nice.
Persians only really make sense to do in plastic given the numbers needed for the mass battle format I prefer. I like the look of these and will be interested to see them and the other possible set from Wargames Atlantic actually hit the streets.
lovely miniatures i really like the look of both sets
The Persian commander looks strangely static compared to their usual stuff. Loving the Normans.
