North Star Take A Peek At Shadow Deep Models For 2020
December 17, 2019 by brennon
North Star Military Figures has been previewing some of the new sculpts coming to support Rangers Of Shadow Deep in 2020. These are the resin masters which will eventually be turned into metal figures when they get released.
All of the sculpts are by Bobby Jackson once again and to the left, you can see two of the new Rangers. The far left one brings two swords to the fight whereas the one next to him is a little bit of an alternative take on an existing model which will be available with the Deluxe Edition of the Rulebook.
Beyond them, we have a mighty Ogre which pops up in one of the scenarios and some more of the Temple Guardians who are looking to fight off the Rangers as they try and continue with their quests. These are some fascinating new models for the range and take things to the next level in terms of scale.
I am slowly but surely looking to get stuck into this game and I just need to build up a table worthy of the models now!
What do you make of these models?

Loving the way North Star are designing miniatures that can cross over to virtually any of the fantasy game settings out there.
The Ogre is a bit too Disney for me, but the rest are great.
@moonunit Agreed. Might I suggest the Atlantis ogres. There’s a news item on them in the sideboard.
Adding this to my plastic hoard. Between Frostgrave and RoSD, it takes more time to create the tables and paint the miniatures then to play through the scenarios. Thankfully I have now convinced 6 total people to play so my tables get multiple uses.
Fabulous figures the ogre not as much I think it’s the tent fairing he’s jammed over his head that does it?
The guy in the middle reminds me of a giant version of the mortal servant to the undead in an old Warhammer Quest expansion.
They all look good to me!
I don’t play ‘Rangers of the Shadow Deep’ for super serious game play. It’s more of a lite stylized game to me. So the Ogre fits in just fine. If I’m wanting to play a serious minis game of this genre I’ll breakout my Lord of the Rings stuff.
