SW:L Rebels

The Hobby Weekend is here, and I’m looking to get back to painting SW:L.

I decided to go for reinforcements for the Rebels force. Below is my OTT order:

• Wookie Warriors
• Chewbacca himself
• Commandos
• Pathfinders

And rummaging through my pile of shame, found in carbon ice is Mr Han Solo.

Plan for the weekend.

Friday:

• Clean up the models
• Primer and pre-shade

Saturday:

• Possible airbrush work on all the minies.
• Texture paint on all bases
• Brushwork on the Wookies
• Brushwork on the commandos

Sunday

• Brushwork on the Pathfinders
• Bases finalisation, tufts etc.
• Varnish all
• Destroy the galactic empire

Everything build and ready for priming. Testing out the hobby weekend background on the photos ?

I love the smell of primer in the morning.

Building and clean up last night took longer than I anticipated, thus up early on Saturday and priming.

Giving the new Citadel priming handle a go. Not bad, at least for light plastic minies.

Paint on! Starting off from the pre-shade, the fur is done with Contrast Gore-Grunta Fur.

Before jumping into batch painting the rest of the Wookies, I completed one to settle down my colour choices.

First, I highlighted the fur up from the Contrast paint. I used Vallejo Flat Earth, with gradual mixes of Vallejo Deck Tan, overburshed on.

The leather pouches and belts are Vallejo Mahagony Brown. Metals are done offwhite highlights and Nuln Oil.

Next up, the Rebel Commandos.

Shirts: Contrast Camo Green

Trousers and gloves: VMC English Uniform

Backpacks: VMC Khaki Grey

Belts: VMC Mahogany Brown

Bandoliers and shoulder bags: Army Painter Leather Brown

Pouches: VMC German Camo Orange Ochre

Helmets: VMC German Camo Black Brown and Contrast Camo Green

Closing off the Hobby Weekend with the Pathfinders. It was lot of fun, painting watching the streams and getting excited for Rise of Skywalker!

Continued the Star Wars: Legion hobbying a bit into the week too.
