My progress so far on the Two Core sets for Star Wars Legion. I was initially very reluctant to buy into the Star Wars Legion game as I was unsure about the mechanics for the game. When FFG released he Clone Wars starter though I had to get involved, even if I used an alternative rule set. After playing through the starter game however, I realised that the game system is actually incredibly nuanced, with a depth I had not anticipated.

So that led to my buying the Rebellion Era Core Set and some extra models in order to take part in a local doubles tournament in Durham. Roll on January and the Rebel Alliance taking down the “Evil” Empire.

I am so very impressed with the quality of the miniatures in both sets. The hard plastic models for the Separatists were a dream to put together and the Plastic/Resin models for the rest are so clean. I am a longtime fan of Mantic games and Warmachine, however the material they use must be broadly similar to that of FFG’s SWL models. FFG have a far superior quality to both those aforementioned companies though. Either because of the larger scale, better quality control or better processes, FFG have done an outstanding job on the models.

I am aiming to complete at least the 14 Rebel troopers I have remaining for the Core Rebellion Era set this weekend however, if this doesn’t happen I will of course keep the project up to date as I add more units and eventually scenery to supplement my SWL collection.

Lovely work! The weathering on the AT-RTs looks really good and the basing is spot on.
