The Towering Cerastus Lancer Available From Forge World!
June 4, 2014 by brennon
Forge World have released their awesome looking Cerastus Knight-Lancer for you to grab and make your next massive hobby project. See what you think of this towering construct below...
"The Cerastus Knight-Lancer is a first strike weapon, attuned to rapid assault tactics and lethal outflanking charges against a foe. It is justly renowned for its speed and its power, as well as for the temperamental and restive nature of the machine-spirits which dwell as anima within its colossal frame."
This does look quite an awesome piece of kit and you can watch a video explaining the background of the Cerastus above. As well as that the experimental rules are available HERE.
Do you want to grab another Knight?

I really want to like this, but the shield thing just spoils it for me. Too anime looking. I’ve never said this about a FW kit before, but I prefer the standard GW kit.
Anime looking ? I really don’t see that.
This kid is amazing and you can pose it so dynamically. I love him orders yesterday already, will accompany my Sons of Horus.
It might look like anime, but I think the more glaring issuse is that the shield looks like it was made with k’nex.
That shield to me is just begging for some clear acrylic in the gaps with blue energy hues brushed round the edges!
I’ve been waiting for this since I saw the rules in HH book 3. It’s perfect for taking down other superheavies. My only real problem with it is the fact it is way bigger than the GW kit for no apparent reason.
I’m speechless…. wow
Like it but the shield needs something like coloured panels or it just looks like a bit of scaffolding
the shield is what really lets it down for me. A real missed opportunity there.
In Canadian dollars I believe this will come in at around $300. Inevitably someone will say they can’t afford it, and good on ’em. Look after your family. And inevitably some fanboy will jump in and say they can easily buy it and therefore, in their mind, they are placing themselves at the apex of some imagined GW caste system, where only the wealthy deserve to pay stupid money for an ill-conceived and uninformed weapons platform. You don’t even need a military/industrial complex background to see how silly this thing is, in terms of bang for the buck. In real… Read more »
My blind faith was destroyed a long time ago. But the price of FW doesn’t bother me as much as the price of standard GW stuff. FW has always been the domain of the pretty-but-ultimately-unrealistic stuff and has had the price-tag to match.
That’s perfectly fine as it is completely optional. 40K can easily be played with no FW stuff. Which is why the price of the standard stuff is a major problem for me. FW not so much.
Very spartan looking. I love it. I need this model in my life, anyone fancy buying my car?
Looks good.
Dat ass.
You see….I just don’t ‘get’ the whole 40K thing! Technically, the models are very good, but for me they just don’t ring any Sci-fi bells! I’ve grown up with most of this stuff from way back in the 80’s when they where the ‘only kid on the block’ so to speak, and i’ve been in and out of 40K so many time since then…….it just doesn’t do anything for me. I guess it ‘each to his own’…….variety is what make this hobby so interesting. Folk will go mad for this stuff…I just think the relentless stream of new releases, new… Read more »
Not really impressed, I must admit.
I really don’t like the extra bend in the legs. And that shield… It’s just… Wrong…
One of the rare misses from Forge World.
