Perry Miniatures Gather Their Plastic French Command Options
December 3, 2019 by brennon
Perry Miniatures has been showing off the final stages of the new plastic kit for the Napoleonic French with a peek at the Command elements available soon in plastic.
This is a look at just some of the ways you will be able to build up your French Command elements which will be leading the way into battle ahead of Napoleon's host. As always with Perry Miniatures there are a lot of accessories and bits for you to play around with.
Painted examples are coming down the line but as you can see Perry Miniatures have really raided the historical reference folders and books which no doubt decorate their offices to create a range of fascinating and accurate models.
I do like that we're getting them with a range of different heads, hats and longer coats too. The weapons, in particular, are looking very nicely detailed. I love the look of that sabre which will no doubt be swishing through some English dogs soon enough.
What do you make of these plastic models from Perry Miniatures?

is that a golden eagle on the standard.
‘I do like that we’re getting them with a range of different heads, hats and longer coats too’
I think the ‘longer coats’ you are referring to are actually the Sapper’s aprons.
Hah, so it is. Well – now I see it a lot easier.
@zorg the Eagle was only Gold Plated, some British Troops actually captured one and destroyed it thinking it was gold.
@wellhungindung correct that is a Sapper which is really cool to see.
I might get these to use as Mexican Troops for the Texas War of Independence. Both the British and the French used Sappers and as a mostly Skirmish Wargamer it’s great that they’ve gone for a Sapper rather than another useless Drummer.
Still a good war memento to who captures one.
Fight Napoleon’s best troops.
sappers are one of my favourite things to see in miniature, I even made some for my imperial guard in warhammer 40k. These perry plastics look good – hope they continue making more of these kits (and their ww2 ones)
Actually they DO have longer coat…….tails. Probably going to get called a “rivet counter”, but the Perry’s are releasing two boxes for the French for the 1807 to 1814 (the current ones have the shorter coat tails for the 1814-1815 period for battle like Waterloo) period. So Ben was completely right (almost) in saying they had longer coats 😀
