Happy Sunday. Sorry for the delay, it was a lazy Sunday lie in from the website 😉
I would like you to know I was eating when I started this episode. “Having to push it down with your fingers” really helped that…cheers
Happy Sunday!
Looks like without Warren they’re stillpacking 90 minutes of XLBS, what could they be taking about?
So if you use that mug at the OTT centre a cup of tea is only 50p?
Still pay a pound and we pour the other half down the sink
I would say for painting stripes and this may sound silly but try and rotate your model so your always going up and down with the brush,. Makes painting lines so much easier
@avernos You mention in clash formed troops moving 2 inches. That’s something else we forgot. At least I did
No we were using superior troops with drilled you don’t get the reduction in movement
We got something right? Woohoo
Happy Sunday! lots of good hobbytime this week.
@brennon For the card game idea each fighter could have a fatigue value and each type of attack would use up a certain amount of fatigue points and while being on the defensive and playing defensive cards could help you recover some of those points. Then you could have it that you couldn’t play certain types of attacks that were above your current fatigue level
Something like that anyway
It is something I want to think about to make it more interesting and dynamic aye. I’ll start up a project people can drop their thoughts into.
Just starting… BUT WHAT THE FEZ?
you win, we were wondering who would notice first
@avernos I spent a day sat on the loo puking in to the bath and projectial vomiting in the toilet at the same time after eating street food in Bangkok many moons ago. I should have known better not to eat street food after being there a year working lol….ahhhh happy days lol
🙂
“Don’t open that it might be a mouse trap that’s what I’d send us” – That’s an idea I wonder if I can find some tiny mouse traps that will hold tension across the planet. Those Romans look cool @avernos I should really do my Caesarian Romans but then again I should really paint my Imperial Romans but then again again I really should buy some Republican Romans for Clash and paint them up too…. I’ve made Two projects about games. The First one is Age of Plasma the 40K Conversion to Saga https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1392293/ The Second is the first part… Read more »
“every one has a game in them ” my club did a game based off warmaster years ago, i had he pleasure of writing the blunder table for it

cant believe that its been ten years ……
That Dark Angel story was also published in a 40k anthology called Death Wing. I “think” it was written by William King. It is a great little story and worth tracking down if you like your old school 40k! It is not so much missing fluff in 40k I miss, but I always thought it was cooler when Imperial Guard had Rhinos, Land Raiders and Land Speeders – Squats had them as well – squads of Beastmen in Imperial Armies, minotaurs and trolls in Chaos warbands, a half-eldar Ultramarine… Where are the Mole Mortars these days? Marty has done a… Read more »

Love that anthology. The Death Wing story is one that i love very much and for 8th ed it got turned into a DA legend rather than an actual event in their history.
Funny, I have a wee notepad I write ideas down in as well. One thing I did start to look at and think about was a fantasy cricket game. Don’t think anyone would really want to play it. I was thinking a fun quick dice and card game but an Orc team in whites would look awesome. I also remember when BoW tried to make a Western game. It was called Go For Your Guns… I even bought figures and casino dice to play it but sadly we are still waiting on the beta rules, hopefully we will see them… Read more »
I think Go For Your Guns vanished, unfortunately. However, maybe we could do something similar!
@robert. Not sure if it was WD it not but someone wrote a fantasy cricket game for Runequest. It came out just after Trolkin ball or was it Troll ball. Can’t remember now
Everyone’s got a game in them.
Correct!
The difference is always the drive to make it a coherent enouph vision to be realized and then it is the split into making it a commercially viable product or not.
I think that is key. It’s all about trying to get that out of your head and onto the tabletop.
Greetings CoG Brothers and Sisters!

**********Happy Weekend************
So I have a question……How many of you have made a ‘Black Friday’ Purchase and was any of it Gaming related?
I’ve bought several miniatures, two games, and lot’s of support ‘stuff’ for gaming in general.
No absolutely nothing mainly because its shown that most items ( not gaming) for sale on Black Friday are usually cheaper again at other time of the year usually for a few weeks
@templar007 I bought Mortal Gods and a Spartan expansion for it because they really did have a good deal on it and now I’ll actually have some Greeks to sit in the pile of awesomeness. I also added a few Normans as they were Three packs for the price Two.
Nice @Robert, I’ll have to look into that, as I could use some new recruits to expand my Norman forces in SAGA.
The 3 for 2 might end today or tomorrow.
I did pick up a few cheap blisters for Blood and Plunder and a few bits for Infinity as well – but not much more than at the start of a “normal” month
Oh, I forgot that I took advantage of the Firelock Games 20% off,(if I remember right), and pre-ordered the Queens Anne Revenge ship model and the pre-order for Blood and Valor book.
I lost a fight with my wallet or else I would have thrown in a 6th Rate
I save up extra ‘Mad Money’ just for this time of year!
Re:white. Valifld though Gerry’s tip is, I rarely want pure white. Normally I wanted it tinted by the base tone underneath (blue, cream, grey). In this case the transparency works as a plus.
For anything white I use Vallejo deck tan
I’ll have to try that ‘Deck Tan’ from Vallejo.
Everyone got a game in them – too bad too many are pulled from the ….
Happy Sunday! It is frustrating when you find something in a otherwise great rule set that just doesn’t reflect what you feel should be displayed on the table top. Similar to your issue with archers, I get frustrated when WWII indirect artillery units dance around the table top with no regard to what actually has to happen for a displaces artillery, mortars, etc. to be able to effective fire again. When I talk with the game designers, I do find myself sympathizing with their need to trade realism for playability, but in some cases the trade decisions are not well… Read more »
Our friend used to “tweek” rulesystems all the time.
But then he would break his own game by exploiting these “tweeks”.
It was ridiculous. Now we only play rulesets as written.
Less fun but no more discussions.
Happy XLBS
Ooh a Christmas advent gift you need a treestump to do the flash Gordon contest guy’s?
So Gerry’s been Romaning everywhere?
He’s been everywhere man

Happy Sunday!!!
Is inks any good for checker patterns??? Anyone.
I think you’d struggle to get a thin solid lines
Probably, some tartan are all thick lines. was thinking of the final effect with the overlapping colours.
Yes I remember a short story about the stealer infestation in the spacehulk expansion box rule book Justin.
I have a folder on my pc called “Games I’ll never play” with games ranging from Soul Calibur 28mm, to Mortla Kombat, Space Games, Space Hulk with a ton of added items, to Metroid.
It kind of gives me the idea that GW is making all the games in the bakclog now that they have more staff. I’d say not every idea makes a good game, but ya never now unless you play it.
You say these words and my Steam games list reminds me of how much time I haven’t sunk into things I’ve bought or had given to me. This is where priority for painting my Hoard of Shame comes in. Less clicks and more dips.
