DUST 1947 Show Off This Year’s Christmas Releases
November 25, 2019 by brennon
The folks behind DUST 1947 have been showing off their new releases dropping throughout December and the Christmas period. A range of new models and a new book are on the way for you to check out and add into the mix.
Leading the way we've got the Kowalkski's Marauders Steel Guard Starter Set. The set actually comes with a lot of awesome stuff that you can use to get started in the game beyond the models including game tiles and a gridded neoprene mat which is nice! When it comes to building up a force this comes with some of the most badass armour in the game and there's even a hero choice with a once per game flying option.
HQ Options
As well as the Starter Set there are a few more ways for you to build up forces like the IJN and Mythos factions. My favourite from this pairing is for the Mythos set which comes with an awesome selection of characters.
Here you've got the rather epic looking characters including Rasputin, Ekaterina a Sabertooth Tiger and Farouk! You've also got the Command set which helps to bulk things out here and gives you some very nice looking leaders with a strange Lovecraftian edge.
On The IJN side of things, you've got the addition of characters like Akiko, Fumiko and Hitomi plus a Command option too.
I love the character with the machine gun who has a very good friend shouldering the burden! It would most likely be very loud but it looks epic at the very least. With big guns and all sorts of explosive firepower, I wouldn't want to mess with these ladies.
Rolling Armour
As well as these on-foot models there's also the option to pick up a piece of armour for the Axis/NDAK with the E10 Hetzer/Flammhetzer.
This is a new fast attack option for the Axis with anti-tank capabilities and a flamethrower which is going to hose down the enemy and turn them into ash. You've also got an X-8 Wire Guided Missle on the top and machine guns for keeping pesky tank-hunters at bay.
Paradise Lost Campaign Book
Building on the narrative for the world of DUST we're also looking at a new book release coming up soon too.
Here in the Paradise Lost Campaign Book, you'll find some new profiles, platoons and an introduction to the IJN over a number of different scenarios. You'll also find ways to build up a global campaign which takes the battle to different corners of the world.
In addition to all of that, you'll also find a set of revamped tokens and four foldable mats which allow you to play out campaigns on a beachhead or river.
The Future Of DUST 1947
As well as these releases which are coming out on December 6th there are also some nuggets of information about the future of the game. The studio has been talking about moving releases from quarterly to monthly which should allow you to get your hands on more models plus they are working on some Ready To Play models.
Previously known as the Primed collection, these miniatures will come out in a coloured plastic meaning they are good to go right away! They come pre-assembled as before and simply mean games can be gotten too much quicker.
Will you be checking out these new releases?

I love the minis of dust but nobody anywhere near me plays it.
I like the minis, just could never get a game over by me.
You could probably make use of them in a Pulp/Weird WW2 game, as long as you clarify the rules for some of the more fantastic weapons. The Japanese Naval Academy minis and some of the basic ground troops for other countries with more real-life weaponry are probably the easiest to use.
Great looking model’s.
I just recently got one of my FLGS to carry DUST 1947. We have gathered a group of about 8-12 people who show up once a month for game days and soon, we will be doing Tournaments. I NEED Kowalkski’s Marauders Steel Guard Starter. I have Steel Guard, but want the starter to really get some platoon bonus.
I have always enjoyed Dust since Beasts of War introduced it to me.
It is the only game, that I play, where the German Army is my main and chosen force to play. I do enjoy my Gerrilla fighting force! ?? Also the planes are cool as well.
