Armies Of Kings Of War’s Uncharted Empires Detailed & More
November 21, 2019 by brennon
Mantic Games has been chatting more about the new Uncharted Empires book coming to support the new edition of Kings Of War.
The new book will be coming out to support a range of different armies not covered in the core book and should hopefully offer up a chance for people to play with armies buried away in their collection. I love that the cover features a clash between Lizardmen and Knights which reminds me of the old Warhammer Fantasy Battle set.
Background and army lists for these different factions are included in the book...
- Brotherhood (these now have two lists: The Order of the Brothermark and The Order of the Green Lady)
- Free Dwarfs
- Salamanders
- Sylvan Kin
- The Herd
- Kingdoms of Men
- League of Rhordia
- Ratkin
- Ratkin Slaves
- Twilight Kin
- Varangur
You will find that some of these options will be presented as full army lists whilst others are more akin to themes, allowing you to build forces which are based on existing armies but with a little bit of a twist. In addition to this book, we're also seeing them work on some models to accompany the factions. Here is a peek at their Ratkin Slaves!
There are a few more details that you can delve into from the Q&A that they posted up but it all sounds like it will be a fun time for those wanting to dive into big Fantasy games with their armies, both old and new.
I look forward to more of these reinforcement packs allowing them to add their own take on some of the Fantasy races. It's good to see Pannithor getting its own identity which steps further away from Warhammer Fantasy.
What do you think of the news?

I think Gerry is probably the most excited about this, but there is a character for the Free Dwarfs that make throwing wee doggos at your opponent so good, it just has to be done!
Looking forward to this. Got an unpainted bretonian army that I plan to do as a brotherhood force. And my main army is the herd.
*bounces from foot to foot*
Because of the book or because nobody knows your name is really Rumplestiltskin?
Can’t it be both?
I just thought you needed the loo!
It absolutely can be both. It’s a free country. Well, free-ish, but our freedoms certainly extend far enough that you can hop from foot to foot for both of those reasons simultaneously
When you typed “bounces from foot to foot” I was going to reply like Corporal Nobby Nobbs, but I am not sure if you’d get the reference.
None the less I am similarly excited….
The ratkin’s are looking great.
The little padlocks are a great touch!
nothing but slaves for my naughty dorfs!
Nice stuff!
Seeing as how I am a winner (not often I get to say that), I can see this definitely being on my Christmas wish list. I really like the idea of the “theme” lists.
Loving the emo hair!
