Loads Of Extras & Pledge Goals For DUST: Operation Babylon!
May 28, 2014 by brennon
DUST: Operation Babylon is going from strength to strength with a whole bunch of additional gaming accessories and of course miniatures as it closes in on $250,000. That's a pretty massive target...
First up we have the free upgrades coming for the number of backers helping with the campaign. It's not far off these two being unlocked and I really do like those Operation Babylon dice. They are going to be exclusively available only through this Kickstarter so if you want them get pledging!
As well as the backer stretch goals they have also added in these monetary ones. I can see them pretty safely hitting these targets unlocking new specialist units, a new walker, and some alternative sculpts for the heroes of each faction as a free upgrade. Bigger and better seems to be the name of the day and at this rate they will need a whole new set of stretch goals!
Talking of bigger and better they also have these neat looking light walkers for both the Axis and the Americans. I think of the two of them I prefer the German one with it's bigger guns. You can't beat lasers...pew pew.
Some heroes have indeed already been unlocked and we have Rolf Sammit, James T Murphy and Iron Joe for the respective factions in Operation Babylon. All of them look awesome and I really like what they've done with the hero units to make them stand above and beyond the regular troops. Very cool inspiring leaders for the battlefield.
Once again Rolf Sammit shows Axis knows best when it comes to weaponry. Bigger is better!
Have you pledged?

They really shaped up since a bad start and putting awesome mini’s out!
Tomorrow there will be a 2 player starter set available!
It is certainly starting to look like a more and more enticing prospect, especially with the news of Battlefield. Sadly this one runs right in the final few weeks of my current quarterly stidpend so it’s just window shopping for me.
Really looking forward to this one. The shipping date is in August which is really quick. I think the best value is the fully painted sets, as there is little difference between the KS and retail, especially when you add shipping, but buying a painted army is something special these days. Glad they did it, the main reason I am in.
I backed the triple Field Marshall. I like to go with the premium so I can put them on the table out of the box 🙂
I’m in doubt what to do with this one. I’ve got the Axis and SSU starter sets. The older (winter/urban) miniatures from Fantasy Flight Games are a bit more difficult to get a hold off in online stores, ebay helps. I’m wondering if Battlefront is going to start producing those older miniatures as well. My main interest is currently there. If they are starting over with a line of summer/desert themed miniatures, then it might be better to jump ship and invest in the kickstarter. There is some awesome stuff there, but it doesn’t look like it’ll mix well with… Read more »
Once the older models are in short supply, they will re-release them as they have already started to do that with the popular mechs, a lot of the older stuff will mix in ok with the desert models as their uniforms are more generic and it doesn’t really matter about the vehicles.
A HUGE box arrived today – the Joe and Stefan starter armies and lot of other goodies. Absolutely fantastic!
I will paint the whole lot up later on – just oogling them at the moment and reading the rules.
The KS needs a boost – I have a Cunning Plan….
Plan away 🙂 The mechs are by far the highest quality and detail you can buy for the price.
In such a dilemma as whether to jump in boots and all with this one. I am suffering seriously from ‘shiny syndrome’….
Yeah, but these models are super-shiney 🙂
