North Star Scamper To War With Goblin Wolf Riders Previews
November 19, 2019 by brennon
North Star has been showing off some of the new plastic models coming to Oathmark next year. The Goblin Wolf Riders have been previewed a few times already but this is the first time we're getting a proper look at them.
The set looks to come with at least five Goblins per sprue to match alongside five Wolves as you can see above. They have options for arming your Wolf Riders with hand weapons and shields plus some command elements too. For example, here you can see a Musician, Champion and there is even a Shaman in the mix as well, some of which comes in metal rather than plastic so bear that in mind!
You can also see that the set comes with some other options for archers too! This looks like it will be a good set with some seriously beefy looking Wolves leading the way!
Talking of the sprues, you can check out what they look like here so you can get an idea of the range of different Goblins you can make. I would hope that this set is going to be crafted into a ten Goblin one so you can either make one larger unit or two smaller skirmishing ones.
The actual Wolves look to be beefy as we've said before and they certainly make a statement. These miniatures look a lot better than the Wolves we saw as part of the classic Warhammer Fantasy Battle set which hadn't been updated in a good long while!
So, with Oathmark coming next year we're seeing lots of awesome stuff coming together for this new mass battle game. The core elements have been designed for a lot of different races, namely Dwarves, Goblins, Elves, and Humans and now we're starting to see the more fancy looking elements popping up.
I like the idea of this force!

The command elements are metals on plastic wolves, so if you dislike metal figures, they may not be for you. I am a big fan of the goblins, and even better is that these wolf riders are compatible with the Goblin Infantry already released, so plenty of option for you to play with.
Also like that the wolves can be used sans riders, so will be useful for lots of things (they might even be selling them separately).
Cheers for the extra info there – have updated the text a little to mention the metal models.
You’ll be even happier as they are coming in a box of 15! So could be a very affordable way of putting a large force on the battlefield.
Have you heard how much they are going to retail at Robert (as it’s three sprues of riders and five sprues of wolves I guess)? I’d assume it’s going to be higher than the standard boxes of infantry.
North Star’s infantry tend to be around £20 a box. If the wolves are available separately I’ll be tempted. I’m after a few and it’s GW’s Fenrisian wolves in pole position right now.
They said at the beginning that they wanted the wolves to be able to be used just as wolves – think they’d be mad not to make the sprues available on their own.
Not seen anything yet @phaidknott. But from my own point of view, anything under £30 is great value.
Can be a good time to scratch built the command unit.
Looking forward to these to use as Hobgoblins for my Chaos Dwarfs.
They look great.
