Games Workshop Look Ahead To Future Adepta Sororitas Support
November 14, 2019 by brennon
Games Workshop has been looking ahead to some support for the Adepta Sororitas/Sisters Of Battle after the big Army Box lands this weekend. There is quite a bit that will be getting added into the mix for those planning to take this army in games of Warhammer 40,000.
Start Your Own Adepta Sororitas Army @ Store.OnTableTop
One of the key elements they wanted to delve into was the inclusion of lots of cool options as part of the plastic kits which will make up your regular squads of Sisters Of Battle.
The multi-part plastic kit will come with lots of options when it comes to weapons, poses, accessories and the like. You will find it brimming with possibilities and I love the look of the models we're seeing here, both with their flashing white hair on display and hidden behind their deadly looking helmets. I particularly like the bald Sister on the back row, that's an awesome option!
The plastic kit will also allow you to make your Dominions who are forward-scouting vehicle killers and special-weapon wielders and also the Celestians who can be built using a range of upgrades and act as the bodyguards for your Canonesses on the battlefield.
This works as a very nice baseline for those looking to pick up the Adepta Sororitas as a force on the tabletop and I like that you get so many options in the kit. Talking of characters and the Canoness however...
Leaders & Saintly Characters
One of the models which will be leading the way into the fighting is, of course, the Canoness which we mentioned above and she will come with loads of options in her plastic kit too.
So, for all those who didn't like the look of the model from the Army Box, you've now got some options which allow you to make your own version of a Canoness armed with an array of different weapons and either donning a full helmet or showing her face to the enemy. I like the awesome hood and bionic eye presented in the top right image.
We also have some other updated additions to the Adepta Sororitas line-up including the ...
Dialogus
Hospitaller
Imagifier
Again, I like what they have done with these updated miniatures personally. They have been brought in line with the modern way that folks sculpt miniatures and work alongside the likes of the Primaris Space Marines and such very nicely indeed. They aren't going to be for everyone but I think that Games Workshop has done some sterling work here now we're seeing some of what's coming in the future.
Finally, we have something a bit bonkers. If you thought that a stained glass window on a tank was an odd design choice see what you think of this floating pulpit helmed by Junith Eruita.
This Canoness Superior of the Order of Our Martyred Lady is an absurdly over-the-top looking miniature which somehow seems to work just fine with the world of Warhammer 40,000 and the grimdark future where everything has been turned up to the Nth degree.
If you don't bow down before this particular saintly figure I'm sure she'll burn you to a crisp. Games Workshop also said they haven't even scratched the surface when it comes to picking up the Adepta Sororitas as a force with previews coming for the Retributors, Zephyrim, and the Battle Sanctum.
So, has this made you more or less excited for the coming of the Adepta Sororitas?

These look awesome. The flying pulpit is a bit bizarre but the Admech have one floating around so it was only a matter of time before someone else got one.
It sounds like the standard box is going to be one serious multi-part kit. I love that because you always have loads of cool bitz left over.
The scripture painting on these is unreal, I struggle to get recognisable letters, never mind a font!
Oh my gawds. That floating pulpit is truly awful. It’s not quite Space Wolf Santa Thing awful but it’s horribly close!
It may be silly, but it’s good in keeping with the rest of the gothic theme they have going. Besides, the AdMech already have a floating war pulpit, so it makes sense that the zealous Sisters would have one too for leading/inspiring their troops.
It’s in keeping but it’s still ridiculous. I hated that AdMech pulpit too – uniquely among both AdMech ranges, which I think are excellent.
Fair enough.
Opinions vary I guess
that Cannoness is just Terry Crews in a wig. Prove me wrong!
Yeah, that alt head sculpt is pretty horrendous. At least the others look more feminine.
These are more expressive and thereby interesting, all my usual caveats withstanding. On an aside i also like the dark skin and white hair combination, which could be good for Salamanders.
I’m loving this but maaaaaaan I have too many armies. Here’s hoping the standard sisteres ‘not tactical squad’ isn’t like fifty euro per box.
Great looking army, except for a few questionnable designs (glass window and flying pulpit…).
The Cannoness on the flying pulpit is getting into the AoS realms of over the top silliness. Don’t know why GW have gone with this aesthetic over the past few years (where the minis are starting to look more like a display piece out of some artwork than a “believable” and playable gaming mini). Yet another Anti-grav import to the imperium (remember when it was just the Eldar that had the “science” to do flyers, that was part of their advanced tech but low numbers background). And the cherubs need removing from ALL the minis as well. …boy, feelin grumpy… Read more »
They’re trying to appeal not just to casual gamers who want nice pieces on the field, but they’re also trying to appeal to kitbashers and those who make cinematic dioramas out of their minis. The models are designed so that cinematic effects and base pieces can be added for additional dynamism, or left off for a basic look. And if you’re so upset about the hover vehicles, it’s not that hard to kitbash them with older marine or imperial guard tanks. Though I do agree about the cherubs, they’re a bit too creepy for my liking. As for the silliness… Read more »
For the most part very good models. Need to cut of the dues and lose the body a the feet of the Hospitaller so that it is a model and not a diorama. Would like to use some of the extra Canoness parts to add new looks to my Sister Superiors and, with luck Junith Eruita can be made separate from her pulpit. These will be a must buy though, even if the Dialogus, Imagifier, and Hospitaller have never been very useful in game.
They’d look pretty frumpy standing next to the Raging Heroes sisters.
Have they been taking design notes from Dr Eggman Robotnick or something?

Great looking unusual figures for the nuns.
Generally a good update, except on the vehicles. Which are terrible.
Not feeling the flying pulpit myself. Looks like a cracking piece of terrain but Some of the SoB and Deamon hunters kits were too silly for my liking.
Too much for me. £125 for space nuns is a lot of money.
Lately GW put some sort of vehicle in the box and hike to price. I prefer ground troops to tanks and warmachine.
The Roman Catholic school boy in me is excited.
