Atomic Mass’ Marvel: Crisis Protocol Releasing This Weekend!
November 13, 2019 by brennon
This weekend you've got the chance to get yourself down to the tabletop to play Marvel: Crisis Protocol as the Atomic Mass Games superhero battler arrives in store.
Become A True Believer @ Store.OnTableTop
The Core Set alongside a range of additional expansion content is already up on our webstore (linked above) so you can snag it from us and get stuck into some fighting with your own dream team.
Inside the Core Set, you get Captain America, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Black Widow and Iron Man going up against (or indeed mixing with) Red Skull, Doctor Octopus, Ultron, Baron Zemo and Crossbones. You'll also find all of the terrain you need to set up a dynamic battlefield and the rules (full rules available for download HERE), tokens, movement tools and such you need to get going.
If you're interested in our own rundown of the game's contents you can check out the Unboxing...
...and if you want a bit more of a dive into the rules then we also put together a preview which you can read HERE.
Expansion Content
If you somehow manage to plough through all of the goodies in the Core Set then you can also get your hands on Hulk...
...and MODOK, both some of the larger miniatures in the collection so far with all sorts of fun new abilities to bring into play.
There is also an additional NYC Terrain Expansion that you can pick up which offers a few more terrain elements to help add to the battlefield. The more cluttered it is the more weapons you'll find to throw your foes into!
All of this comes alongside a host of additional pre-orders which are still available for the future which include Black Panther & Kilmonger, Shuri & Okoye and finally Venom. I am already loving the idea of running Spider-Man and Venom together so you've got a nice uneasy alliance in play as we see in the comic books!
There is much more to come from Atomic Mass Games for Marvel: Crisis Protocol too so watch this space!

I personally think a ‘Marvel Crisis Protocol’ Hobby Weekend is in order. Image the phenomenal board the OnTableTop crew could make!
Any news on X-Men joining?
They won’t commit on anything that hasn’t already been stated/shown off (so basically just the cabinet at Gen Con this past August). If I had to guess, I could see a new starter coming next summer featuring the X-Men vs Brotherhood.
It seems like they have quite a lot to draw from for the game so I wouldn’t put it past them covering the things you like in the future aye haha
I wouldn’t mind them going a little off-script and unexpected with something like a Fantastic Four vs X-Men starter. There is a mini-series called “X-Men/Fantastic Four” coming up that is about Franklin Richards being stuck between his family and the stuff going on in Johnathan Hickman’s X-Men right now. There are moments they’ve clashed in the past, so it wouldn’t be unheard of. Plus it would get us two of the more well known factions at once.
The Defenders would be awesome. Bring on the Daredevil!
It would be awesome to see New York’s finest (in a different sense), so Spider-Man teaming up with Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and such.
Looks like South Park Elementary broke street date
Turns out it was a review copy for their YouTube channel
what street date ?
I could have bought it last week already at the convention, because one of the traders at the show had it for sale (105 Euro IIRC).
It might explain why the demo tables were using what looked like a pre-release demo kit.

Today is the street date. When the boys see the girls playing a copy of MCP they even point out that they’re playing it before release (which is when they’re told it’s a review copy for their channel).
Anyone with a copy earlier either had a demo copy for their store, a review copy for their channel, or someone had broken street date. I’m not aware of any pre-release for Asmodee programme stores as there was for Marvel Champions.
The demo tables themselves were at the Asmodee stand at the convention.
I don’t know if the folks doing the demo were aware that the core box was being sold.
OTOH … there were only two independent retailers at the convention, so I doubt that Asmodee would have missed that.

I’m curious — with WizKids releasing unpainted Marvel miniatures, is anyone here deciding to paint the WK miniatures instead of the Marvel Crisis ones? Certainly the price different suggests that the Marvel Crisis miniatures would have higher sculpting quality.
WK looks to be competing against other companies with its inexpensive unpainted miniatures. Deep Cuts (et al) compete against Reaper Bones, the upcoming Warlock dungeon tiles against other dungeon tile companies (eg. Dwarven Forge?), and unpainted Marvel figures for HeroClix. More choice for the consumer!
The Wizkids miniatures are pretty small compared to these guys, I believe. I collected a lot of them as a teenager and the quality and material of them were not great. Also random. Personally no. Are the rules even available separately from the starter or is there a quick start rules? I think choice is great like you do. I think they are all marketed to different people. I mean, given this is a hobby, the people who love Reaper Bones will wax lyrical about it, but the people who don’t like them, as an example, won’t rant and rave… Read more »
