For me it depends.

Is the base just aesthetic then I don’t really care as long it isn’t over the top. Like a basic 28mm mini on a 100mm base.

Is the base used in the rules then it is a different story. As this could have an impact on the game.

But if it is only small adjustments, like measuring is done from the base and you can agree on a different way of measuring. I wouldn’t mind.
