Delve Into The Orbital Strikes Of Warhammer 40,000: Conquest

Apart from Warhammer 40,000 7th Edition there is another part of this grim dark setting I'm looking forward to. The game in question is Warhammer 40,000: Conquest from Fantasy Flight Games and they have posted up another preview for the game...
The focus this time around is on looking at planets and how your troops and the enemies react to each other. Each game you're going to have some randomly selected planets appearing on the tabletop and it will be up to you to work out which resources you need to control and which ones you should contest but let slip to the enemy.
You'll be battling it out across the various landscapes and duping your opponent into showing his hand early with a pass and go style system in place much like with Star Wars: The Card Game. I love the sound of this and the addition of powerful heroes to sway the tide of battle sounds ace.
Hopefully this one won't be in the preview stage for much longer!

It doesn’t matter how many expansions there are because you and your friends can start at the beginning and advance at whatever pace you like. You’re not trying to beat the guy… Read more »
This looks like it could be very interesting.I have a few friends who like the 40k setting but don’t like wargames so this could be an ideal start as many of them adore card games.
I’m unsure of the details of Conquest, does it for part of a 40K Tabletop Game or is it a Card Game in it own right?
