Get Hyped for Guardians of the Galaxy With its New Trailer
May 21, 2014 by dracs
The Guardians of the Galaxy, the most miss-matched band of outlaws ever to voyage into space, are coming to cinema and a new trailer has recently gone out to get us all good and hyped.
Peter Quill, the self-styled Star Lord heads up this band of intergalactic outlaws, who find themselves at the centre of a manhunt after stealing an orb which it turns out may shape the very fate of the universe.
From this trailer, it looks like the Guardians of the Galaxy will be far more comedic in tone than a lot of the previous Marvel movies, which have admittedly had their fare share of light-hearted moments (puny god).
Personally, I think this is a good move for the film. Guardians of the Galaxy might be the most ambitious Marvel movie since the Avengers itself, bringing some relatively unknown heroes to the big screen in a humorous space opera. The more comedic approach may help audiences less inclined to the weirdness of comics. Plus, when you have this character in your movie, you know its going to have some funny moments.
I have to admit, I was really worried about this film when I first heard about it. But now that I've seen this trailer I really want to see it. It looks so barmy it can't help but be fun.
Are you looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy?
hard to tell from a trailer, but I get a real star-warsy (original trilogy obviously)/firefly vibe from this, heres hoping its great
I get what you mean. I get a total space opera vibe from the trailer, and that’s why I want to see it. Well, that and a bad**s Space Raccoon with a 4 barrel rocket launcher!
Now this looks exciting. I always loved the Marvel in space stuff much more than the Earthbound heroes.
I’m quite excited about the look of this, i have good hopes, and looks like it may bring a few chuckles in the cinemas, plus most films with green skin is worth a viewing 🙂
I may be playing too much 40K, because when I think of aliens with green skin I think of Ghazghul Thraka rather than Zoe Saldana as Gamora, and with all due respect to lovers of large, violent anthropormised fungoid life forms, I am pretty sure that Gamora would be a better conversationalist…
Anthropomorphised – it isn’t that hard to spell, so I have no idea what happened in my last post.
Makes you wonder if the casting director’s brief was to find an actress with experience of playing brightly coloured aliens.
Its quite an unusual one for them to pick from Marvel and I was really skeptical about it thinking what on earth are they doing it.
After seeing this trailer I can’t wait!
May well be worth a checking out.
the soundtrack … WIN^2
Awesome.
Don’t save your money for Bat Affleck, see this.
Oh, Aye ! 🙂
The trailer looked great. Not only does it look visually exciting it’s funny too, which appealed to me the most. It’s a pity I have to wait until August. I want to see it now.
Trailers are interesting at the least. I’m looking forward to this.
Space Raccoon? Oh, hell yeah. And the music rocks, if nothing else. 😀
Making it with a hot alien chick. Is that not what man has dreamt of since first he looked at the stars?
Kif, I’m asking you a question!
haha!
Everyone’s talking about Zoe Saldana, but forgetting that Karen “come along Pond” Gillan is in this, too. It’s good to see her following in the footsteps of Carey Mulligan and making a move to the big time.
Oh WWE has been spelling Dave’s surname wrong all this years, its Bautista instead of Batista. Confusing.
The WWE never uses anyone’s real name as they can’t trademark a person’s name. For that reason Byran Danielson wrestles in the WWE and “Daniel Byran”.

Say what, @redben ? You mean the Rock’s given name isn’t really “the Rock?” 🙂 I’m just kidding, of course. But you’re right, I’ve read that the WWE Creative Division actually owns the character portrayed by the wrestler as a company IP, and Vince MacMahon’s lawyers haven’t figured out a way to actually steal your real name yet. 🙂 So you get guys like “Mr. Kennedy” who wrestled for WWE until he went to TNA, when he suddenly became “Mr. Anderson.” “Bubba Ray” became “Bully Ray,” etc. Long story short, almost no one uses their real name.
Remember what The Rock was originally called when he debuted back in 1996? It’s another good example of how WWE won’t use someone’s real name. They changed Buh Buh Ray to Bubba Ray when they signed him from ECW so they could TM it. Jim Hellwig legally changed his name to Warrior to try and get round the TM. I believe he wound up getting control of much of the copyright to the character because he could prove he created it before he went there.
Actually, no . . . sadly I did not remember Rock’s debut name, I had to look it up. 🙂 I knew Rocky Maivia, but I’d heard he had another even before that but couldn’t remember. Sure enough (pasted from Wikipedia): “Under his real name, he defeated The Brooklyn Brawler at a house show, and lost the other matches to Chris Candido and Owen Hart. After wrestling at Jerry Lawler’s United States Wrestling Association, as “Flex Kavana”, and winning the USWA World Tag Team Championship twice with Bart Sawyer in the summer of 1996, Johnson signed a WWF contract” .… Read more »
