Undertake Sigmar’s Great Quest With Dacian Anvil Soon

Games Workshop dropped another little morsel of awesomeness for those who like Age Of Sigmar this past weekend too. Here we have a preview of Dacian Anvil, a new Knight-Questor model for those playing Stormcast Eternals.

This new character comes clad in his specially forged Knight-Questor armour wielding mighty weapons gifted to him by the God-King himself. Knight-Questor's are a pretty cool element of the Stormcast Eternal army, sent on special missions by Sigmar and fully focused on the task at hand. Perhaps with the new Soulbound RPG coming from Cubicle 7 this is a nice hint towards a range of characters that could be used alongside that roleplaying experience. I doubt it, but it would be nice!
Dacian Anvil is a nice departure from the other Knight-Questor we've seen from Games Workshop who was previously available in Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower. Gone are the big cloak and helmet (and the shield) in favour of a more characterful individual.
I like the addition of the accessories around his belt too with maps guiding him on his journey plus the book hanging from the rear. I do like myself a good book to paint.

A fabulous figure that would make a great commander for any army.
I have a sudden desire to turn Stormcasts into Chaos Space Marines.
I’m liking the look of this guy. If there’s one thing most people, even the whiners, have to admit about the Stormcast, it’s that they have some great dynamic poses. This guy almost reminds me of the traditional Sigmar war priests,albeit with bigger armor and weapons.
Is this an old school single part flat mini?
It’s got to the stage now where I find it hard get excited about yet another Stormcast Eternal model. It’s not that I don’t like Stormcast Eternals but from one to the next the only thing that really changes is the pose.
I’ll admit I found myself wondering what was “specially forged” about his armour.
Nothing distinguishable or interesting about this model. Lots of CAD details but no love. Would be perfectly fine as a generic champion that came in a box of troops – not a £22.50 (I imagine) mono-pose model. How GW haven’t seen fit to include a variety of modelled helmets and add-ons (in-sprue) to customise your stormcast is beyond me.
They even gave him a double-handed sword lol
That’s a very nice Salamand…..I mean Stormcast. But I do just miss all the finery of the old Empire figures for the Humans in the Fantasy game. Alas things move on, but the Stormcast are all just knights with no real “rank and file” troops types to build up from 🙁
