Hunt Tanks & Scout Ahead With More Flames Of War Releases

Battlefront Miniatures has been showing off some new releases for Flames Of War. Again, this is another trilogy of German releases which allow you to try and hold back the Allies as they power up off the beaches and deeper into mainland Europe.
We start with a pair of Tank-Hunter options for you to decide upon. Leading the way we have the 7.5cm Tank Hunter Platoon which was deployed in great numbers on the front lines during the war and 1944 in particular.
This is then developed on with the 8.8cm Tank Hunter Platoon which was much heavier and able to punch its way through pretty much any tank. However, it wasn't at all as manoeuvrable as other options so you'd have the position them properly.
With those options now available you also need to find a way to keep an eye on your opponents and work out where to set up your guns. That's where the Puma Scout Troop comes in.
These Puma were used as scouting troops, viable as frontline reconnaissance which would be able to report back on troop movements. However, when commanders started to worry that the drivers of these vehicles would start fights rather than just report on them they ended up offering them larger guns to hold their own.
So, which of these new options are you going to be picking up?
"...when commanders started to worry that the drivers of these vehicles would start fights rather than just report on them they ended up offering them larger guns to hold their own"
Strange thing is when you get into late war that the German actually had stopped producing the Puma for the 20mm armed variants. It’s just a Wargamer trope that we see these as being throughout the war
I love the shape of the Puma, such a gorgeous vehicle. Probably why they show up in so many armies, despite less than 500 having be built during the war.
Not sure, I think it was in 1943 that they actually stopped production of the Puma, so it’s definitely a mid war armoured car. At least the box set gives you the parts to build the “correct” 20mm armed version for late war games
A great looking set of models
