Turn Up The Difficulty In Blackstone Fortress & Meet The Red Gobbo!
September 30, 2019 by brennon
Games Workshop are inviting you to dive into more trials and tribulations in Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress as they add the new Abominable Intellect into the mix for the game.
Grab Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress @ Store.OnTableTop
This new deck of cards turns the difficulty up on your quests as you head deeper into the bowels of the Blackstone Fortress in search of new foes to face and treasures to uncover. The current highest difficulty level in the game is Challenging but this cranks things up to Abominable where you might die a lot sooner than you thought!
One way that the game cranks up the difficulty is to introduce more enemies into the mix for you to deal with and that's where these new expansion packs come in. Both the Servants Of The Abyss...
...and the Cultists Of The Abyss set will give you a set of additional figures which can be used to add to your encounters, building on the range of options already available in the game.
This also means that if you're looking to pick up some more models for your Chaos forces away from Blackstone Fortress there are a few more options for you here too as the models get packaged up away from the rules and other bits and pieces.
Blackstone Fortress seems to have been getting a lot of good support over the months after the game's release and whilst I would personally prefer them to have kept to the Fantasy side of things for Warhammer Quest I can see why people have been diving on what's on offer in Blackstone Fortress.
Da Red Gobbo!
It might seem a little early to be talking about Christmas but Da Red Gobbo from Games Workshop is already making lists and looking for ways to deliver you your presents in his own unique way. Take a peek at the model which is going to be released nearer to the season of goodwill.
This take on Da Red Gobbo is actually based on an old Gorkamorka model also called Da Red Gobbo. He was the leader of a group of rebel Grots and was the head of Da Kommitte. His red cape was to show support for Da Revolushun and he seems to be turning his mind to the task of present giving now as a way of bringing people round to his political ideas.
One thing that I thought was particularly fun when it came to Da Red Gobbo was that it was never one particular Grot. As they held elections (yes, Grot elections) it would rotate through to another member of Da Kommitte!
You could be enjoying a red Christmas this year as you can fill in a gift list and if yours gets picked you might get a few free goodies!
Are you going to be checking out the new Blackstone Fortress releases next week?

mmmm this teeth… dont work for me… the mini is cool but…
for the the other side! gorkamorka return??? 😀
I want that Gobbo! I NEED THAT GOBBO!
Shitmas in September gets two thumbs down, though those other BF minis might make their way into my Chaos Warband at some stage!
Thinking about the two Abyss boxes for use in Kill Team….
Depending upon price (NZ).
A great wee figure but should be green like the original Santa.
Love the Red Gobbo! Though this makes me wonder if we’ll be seeing some Rebel Grots in Orktober this year… It’s also nice to see all of the Chaos units from Blackstone Fortress available on their own for adding to an existing Chaos army without having to buy the starter boxes, esp. if you’re making a traitor guard army.
be caraful dude, if the number of miniatures are the same on the box picture… then this box dont have all the renegade guard miniatures… looks like one only renegade psyker for example
the other box have all models inside (escalation cultist)
Whoops, I missed that. It’s still nice as a Chaos troop-builder, though. Assuming the price is decent.
