It’s That Release Time Again, It’s Malifaux May!
May 8, 2014 by brennon
I always like it when it gets to May time with Malifaux as it gives me an excuse to use that alliteration. So, without further ado check out what Wyrd Miniatures have on offer this month!
So that's what you have on offer to bolster your Malifaux crews on the tabletop over the next few weeks! Despite all the crazy miniatures I actually think that the more normal human looking characters are the best of the bunch. The Convict Gunslingers and Bishop at the bottom are awesome and while those Punk Zombies are ace the Governor's Proxy is still great.
I think there is something to suit everyone's taste in this latest set of releases. What are you going to pick up?

good concepts, shame they dont show them painted !
Agreed. I’d like to see something other than the coloured illustration.
Hmmm… Some of these figures could be used elsewhere as well. I’m liking those convict gunslingers for our next Wild West skirmish game.
Oooh ! For once, there’s a dynamic asian-style dragon instead of the vertical/horizontal sinewy ones. Love it !
Have you seen the “Mizuchi” Dragon, from GCT Studio’s Bushido game? They have quite a cool vertically inclined Dragon!
They’re all amazing models now. The old metal ones were nice but these are ridiculous! Hopefully they can sort out their distribution as I’m still waiting for April’s releases to be available!
Convict Gunslingers are good choices for Ramos and Marcus crews to give them ranged support as they do not have many ranged attacks in their core sets. I’ll probably pick up those and Bishop, that model is too cool to ignore.
Agree with you @cpauls1, those gunslingers could easily be used in wild west games, maybe a “jailbreak” scenario?
This isn’t a game i’d personally get into myself* but I have to give them massive props – some very imaginative creations with a lot of character and style – and wow they are hard plastic too! I know a friend that will absolutely love this game, so I will have to link them!
*saying that, I’d totally buy that dragon kit though!
Is Malifaux any good? The mini’s are pretty sweet. The game is card based only right?
Yes, there are no dice in Malifaux. Each player uses a fate deck which has 4 suits. Each suit has cards numbered from 1-13, plus each deck has a red joker which has a value of 14 and a black joker which has a value of 0. You turn over the top card of the deck to generate a random number. With positive modifiers you flip over a extra 1 or 2 cards and pick the card you want to use, with negative modifiers, you do the same but you have to pick the lowest number. Also, each player has… Read more »
