FFG’s Luke Skywalker Explored As New Operative For Legion

Fantasy Flight Games have a new version of Luke Skywalker available to pre-order for Star Wars: Legion. This time around instead of the naive farm boy swept along on adventure we have the last of the Jedi and the first of the new Jedi Order, Luke Skywalker Operative.

First off the sculpt is iconic, standing on the bridge of the "fully operational battle station" squaring off against his father and once I've picked my jaw up off the floor we can see that this Luke is a Jedi Knight and not just first-day apprentice with his father's sabre.

Unlike Darth Vader Luke has seen a points increase as his powers have waxed mightily. He has lost his DL-44 Blaster but gained more wounds, more courage, and another die with his Lightsaber attack.

But it's when you check out his possible upgrades and commands this Operative shines. He has access to a third force ability now and has gained Master of the Force to ready one of those at the end of every turn for free. This Jedi can guide his fellow Rebels most effectively.

There are three new Command Cards for Luke as an Operative but once again they can be mixed and matched with the Command Cards from the core set giving some real flexibility in his role

Exploring his force powers this time around he can sacrifice his own attacks for a turn to prevent two enemy troopers from attacking in that turn, or use his mind tricks to move out of position or even attack their own side.

Of course, this new serene defensive Luke may not be to your taste you can always drop in Son of Skywalker instead to get a double attack against some poor unfortunate Imperial trooper, maybe there is a little of his father still in him after all.
