So this is an interesting thread and it has gotten me thinking about what I want out of the site and the community. I see it as 2 different things, with the site bringing news and updates to me and the community is the long form place to participate. There are things I miss about the old days, the old tabletop show that was promoted over here in the states brought me to BoW, one of the first things I remember was the Nam week. Both of these got me back into wargaming and here is where i found the relaxation of painting. My love for painting has gotten me more involved with the community and this interaction keeps me here.
This is going to sound very odd and I am sure brother lloyd and Warren would like to never be in that place again but i miss that scrappy time upon the return to NI with the exodus. Much has changed since then but there was an honesty and openness that is rare in media. Your souls were bared for the world to see and the shows were very good for your finding of ways to keep going.
Much of what I liked in the past was very commercial and I appreciate the expansion to more games. But I do miss some of the start the conversation and see where it goes for 2 hours kinds of xlbs, dr. Dave was fun and passionate about FoW ( we miss you @lafayette ), and the Christmas shopping show. Just a few of things from the past.
Maybe you guys can go back up the coast and find a picnic table to film a show.
