The first prophecy has been revealed which starts off the massive new campaign for Warhammer 40,000 soon. Psychic Awakening is just around the corner and here's the first hint as to what's happening from Games Workshop...

Psychic Awakening Prophecy - Games Workshop

So, it seems like the Aeldari are going to be involved somewhere here...as if we hadn't guessed that already. It seems like we're going to be seeing the Aeldari facing something dark and dangerous, the return of Slaanesh into the world of Warhammer 40,000 perhaps or maybe something worse.

We do know that this means that we're going to be getting some new models for the Aeldari starting off with Howling Banshees in plastic as shown by this new Exarch model.

Banshee Exarch - Games Workshop

The Howling Banshees are the up close and personal experts of warfare in the Aeldari army using their specially designed masks to emit a terrifying banshee scream which disorientates their enemies before they dive in with flashing blades. Exarchs are then the leaders of these units and this model looks great, leaping into battle.

If you're a follower of Ynnead instead however there is a chance for you to make a Ynnari Exarch from the kit too. Maybe you're one of those Aeldari that believes the traditional Craftworlds have dropped the ball and you want a new path to follow?

I do really like the model once again and it'll be cool to see how different the makeup of the Ynnari is going to be compared to the traditional Craftworld factions. The Ynnari, after all, were able to bring together warriors from across the Aeldari spectrum...even the Dark Eldar.

With the first book for Psychic Awakening being subtitled Phoenix Rising, I'm sure we're going to get a lot more for the Aeldari. I am personally hoping they go through all of the Aspect Warriors and give us new models for Swooping Hawks, Striking Scorpions, Flame Dragons, Dark Reapers, Warp Spiders and the like. They were always some of the coolest looking models for the Eldar back in the day.

What do you make of the new models?
