I won’t be great at typing this because it is not an easy subject to type out like this but @warzan I would be more than happy to a chat one day about this or anything.

For me work and life tend to just blend, I find it incredibly hard to not always been split-brain at all times, this has some positives and negatives (my wife is amazed at how my phone can ring at 3 in the morning and within seconds I am on the ball talking about deeply technical issues…. very negative side of that is it is 3 am and I don’t really sleep very much. I very much over analyse every interaction I have so am always thinking, could that have gone better, I should have said this, I could of done that etc.. these tend to be quite negative.

Recently I resigned from my job with nothing really planned but I knew if I did not do something then something potentially quite bad could happen to me… I have now taken a very different type of role, still, technology-focused (i don’t think I know how to do anything else) but without the operational aspect that tends to be the cause of much stress and strain. I am very fortunate/lucky in the industry I have a good name and reputation and thus was able to create my own role and terms, for now, this is having a very positive impact on my life.

Not sure I have answered anything here or added any value but I guess acknowledgement of the situation is probably a great first step, then understanding what you believe is a good outcome comes next and then putting in small incremental changes (or one big bang) to achieving that outcome.

Sorry as I say not sure this was at all helpful or even worth reading but I find myself typing it anyway and seems a waste to highlight it and delete now.
