Forge World Introduces New Defenders Of Lake-town
August 31, 2019 by brennon
Forge World has now introduced three new models into the mix for those playing out scenarios from The Hobbit. This set is known as the Defenders Of Lake-town and contains Bard, Legolas & Tauriel readying their bows.
This set of miniatures is only available for ONE WEEK through their Made To Order service. Normally produced as event exclusives this would be a great buy for folks to pick up and use to play out some cool skirmishes in Lake-town.
I really like the pose for Bard, looking very heroic and readying his bow. Tauriel is focusing on her target and has just unleashed an arrow towards her foe. Legolas doesn't quite look like Orlando Bloom but he's jumping over a branch to hunt down some Orcs who have dared to enter the realm of Thranduil.
Are you going to be snapping these miniatures up?

Ordered. I have been looking for a miniature for a character in an RPG who is basically a ranger. That Bard miniature is absolutely perfect. And I can live with having the Tauriel and Legolas miniatures
The Bard is the best Bard sculpt EVAR, but such a shame you have to buy the pesky elves as well! Tauriel doesn’t exist in my version of Middle-earth and that Legolas’s face tho… 🙁
I get that they are special editions, but given each of them all have models already (in plastic two I think, although bard might be failcast) I think it would of been nice to have seen characters that we still haven’t got miniatures for.
I can understand what you’re saying, there is a plastic kit for all three of those and the existing Legolas and Tauriel models are not noticeably different, just slightly different poses (personally I prefer this new pose but that is just my personal preference). There is also a plastic kit for Bard but it’s based on the battle of 5 armies and bard is wearing chainmail and carrying a sword. This is why I ordered the set, I want a Bard miniature where a bowman and this seems to be the only option at the moment. It does seem to… Read more »
Those look really nice.
Great looking figures.
I’m not sold on the poses. Again, very boring.
Not keen on these, I know at the very least Bard was sculpted years ago but I wish they wouldn’t waste time and actually release some of the missing models.
