WolfWyzard Press’ Deep Dark RPG Gets An Update Soon
August 28, 2019 by brennon
WolfWyzard Press funded The Deep Dark RPG last year, introducing a classic dungeon crawler alongside modern takes on rules to make it inviting to newcomers but also a nice hit of nostalgia for others. Now available over on DriveThru RPG a recent update has also noted an expansion is on the way.
The new expansion, Apocrypha: The Danse Macabre was going to just be a simple addition to The Deep Dark with some alternative rules, more spells and a few tweaks here and there but it has grown since then to include a lot more.
This new take on the rules has effectively broken down The Deep Dark and forged a new set of rules from it, offering up the next step for people who enjoyed the game. The book still features many of the same elements which made The Deep Dark with the same races, Dwarves, Elves, Halflings, and Humans, alongside seven classes for the Cartographer, Quarter Master, Master-at-Arms, Arcanist, Theologist, Thief, and Musketeer.
There is a new skill system in play though which introduces Circles, Criminal, Lore, Parley, Perception, Stealth, and Survival for all characters giving you a common ground to build up your adventurers.
There is also now more focus on how darkness and light affect your party. You will need to have your torch with you down in the darkness but it might also bring foes towards you! You can find more words of wisdom on this new addition to The Deep Dark HERE.
Anyone who backed the original Kickstarter will get a PDF copy for free which should be coming in the next few months.
