Having a Drrr! moment on this:

The obvious thing as a basis for a bootcamp would be the original box game and poss the beginner set already released and just coming back into stock according to Catalyst

If you had both 10 mechs, original Inner Sphere designs , the base rules to learn for bootcamp, and not a huge amount to paint if player wanted…….
