@unclejimmy GW operate in the hobby/games/entertainment market. They compete for teenagers and men’s pocket money not only against other similar companies who sell similar products but they also compete against TV, Sports, Music, Train Sets, Computer Games. Even before that, they allow other hobby shops to sell their product at a lower price, yet they still are one of the better performing chains on the British high street. A pub doesn’t allow you to bring in a few cans from the offsales, or restaurants don’t allow you to bring in your own dinner you cooked yourself, so why does not allowing other paints to be used in your store make you a monopoly? Owning and protecting an IP does not make you a monopoly. Being the most successful company in your specialised area, does not make you a monopoly.
Zvesda kits are decent. They aren’t that much cheaper than PSC or Battlefront. Though a problem with mixing them are slight differences in size… Battlefront are a bit chunky compared to the other 2.
Bolt Thrower did three sessions for John Peel, pretty sure I have it on CD somewhere or I may even have it on vinyl… been years since I listened to it.
My big boy is now glossed and got some basing put down this evening. Perhaps even get him finished tomorrow.
