Hey guys, I wanted to take a little break from the Panzers and decided to keep heading in the right direction so put together my two Tigers for this month.

Rather than go too far on these and leave the Panzers behind I brought them up to the same stage as the Panzers are at so I can batch paint them all together.

For that to happen I just zenith highlighted them, painted them Ushabti Bone and Agrax Earthshade.

Something came to mind as I was doing this simple stage on the wheels that run the tracks. I have attached a couple of pics of the processes so you can see what I mean. These models have a great level of detail and that makes their painting so much easier and enjoyable for me. I will often pay a little more to get miniatures with more clearly defined details or avoid scales where details are unclear or model ranges not detailed enough.

If I cannot find a complete force I can field that I like the look of in a game system then I don’t purchase it. Too often I have purchased something to play within my group but when my hearts not in the miniatures then I rarely finish the project or enjoy playing with them and sooner or later I end up getting rid of them.

The new plastics that have been coming out of FoW and Battlefront have some lovely detail work and really appeal to me. I enjoyed and was pleasantly torn about which starter set to go for and it came down to what camo pattern and colour options I had to choose from. Late war was perfect as it increased the number of options I had for the German force so they were the ones I went for.

I think this project will become a long term one that sees me continuing to increase the force I have and has really helped me find my historical hobby love. I doubt I will play very much or ever be good at the rules but will enjoy hobbying every unit I buy.
