Quick update.
- (slightly over-)did some weathering on the armor (lesson learned)
- tried to use the sponge technique from this project https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/1279041/
- painted the weapons with gunmetal –> black wash –> drybrush metal (a true paint scheme classic) Detailed with tinny tin from vallejo
- Did the weapon ammo (?) (green plasma?) with a Vallejo fluor yellow with green wash over. Didnt end up as smooth as i hoped. Might try a gloss varnish over it.
Only leather details on the helmets and hair left to paint now, and basing, looks like making this blog to push myself into actually completing a painting project by the end of summer will succeed. Yey!….
love it, couple of things matey. Firstly I really like the green on the weapons, so yeah if it’s just the finish to your naked eye hit it with a gloss varnish. Secondly I don’t think there is such a thing as too much weathering, but you could look at a couple of things, first I would keep the sponging mainly to the edges of the armour with either light sponging in the middle of plates or some brush strokes for scratches.
