It’s the Weekender!
What a great three days last weekend was. I had a blast. I really felt the community of hobbiest with me as I worked on my project and watched the coverage on OTT.
I’m sure it will be a little while before the next but I gladly welcome it when it is announced!
Time to sit back with my feet up, with Mountain Dew in hand and something to munch on and get stuck in……………….
If we have two Hobby Weekends per year we could call the first the Vernal Equinox Hobby Weekend and the second the Autumnal Equinox Hobby Weekend. I mean, we’re going for that cult vib right? ?? With the Equinox all things are equal all around the world for all Hobbiest! If we do three Hobby Weekends per year then it could be the trinity of weekends, as in Act One, Act Two, and Act Three. If we stay with 40k then folks could start a project in Act One, progress it in Act Two, and tie it all up in… Read more »
Happy Weekend!!
Hobby weekend was great. Would love another and maybe do two a year.
The hobby weekend was fantastic! Although I didn’t really get anything done worth mentioning I enjoyed every second. The atmosphere was even more relaxed than normally and the table totally mind blowing. The new shop proves to be a irresistible temptation and ate all my cash tho ?
The quality of hobby work my fellow cogs put on show was truly impressive (even Warren’s demons looked actually really great in the end!!) and it was a privilege to spend all this time in their company!
Here’s to the next one ?
yep. 100% agreed.
Streaming and audio issues aside it was a lot of fun.
The music choice though … I had trouble staying awake so I either had to mute it (and miss segments).
Maybe next time a WW2 Hobbyweekend ?
Did GW cover all factions in 8th edition already and are we into the second cycle of codexes ? (or maybe even 9th edition?)
I hope the non-Chaos/Spacemarines factions get new stuff … all the orks got were a few new vehicles, Eldar and others got nothing. 🙁
It would be good to get new models and updates for Orks especially. They need a major model update.
The Orkz at least have both Elite and standard troops in plastic …
The Eldar only have the Wraithguard in plastic and almost every other elite/heavy unit (like their Aspect Warriors & associated heroes) is resin.
It’s the Weekend!! Last Weekend was just a blur without this and the XLBS to mark time so I’ve been discombobulated all week (sorry, not into what I’m sure was excellent 40k coverage).
And the main theme this week appears to be… uuurgh… more 40k! Don’t worry, I’ll snack on the vegetables…
Got any crackers? I know there’ll be plenty of cheese romorrow!
Also I swear they wait for me to go away before having kings of war and star wars on the show.. .
I thought it more than coincidence that they waited for you not to be on the show before talking about 40k
I could feel your Force Ghost in the room with us…
There was also a distinct lack of discussion of any form of Saga!
is that allowed? o.O
Luckily they followed that weekend of 40K coverage with…
A Weekender where the main article is a 40K Codex Deep Dive.
Yay, I suppose? :/
happy weekend – crisis protocol will be a all in for me – imagine to build asgard – waiting for the nex movie i watch actually the agents of shield series….
I would love to see Asagard plus of course all the quirky stuff you could do with Pym Particles!
no – of course 1:1
Happy Weekender!
It’s like Marvel Xmas 🙂
Haha yes. Cant wait for both games but already ordered the card game.
Good that you guys mentioned it, I almost missed the Colony 87 Kickstarter.
I backed the first two KSers, and they are gorgeous. Trying to resist but as someone on Star Trek once said “Resistance is futile”…
Really enjoyed the 40K weekend, a great way to spend a birthday – I still want my birthday kiss, Lloyd! Some super content as well, the chat between Gerry and Thomas Mennes is hobby gold, and I also really enjoyed the content AJ was involved in and I’m not a fluffy person. Big thanks to all for putting it on and an apology for anyone who had to listen to the shite I talk 😀 In defence of Mantic’s models, apart from one plastic kit, the Goblins, I have never had a problem with the levels of detail on their… Read more »
I still don’t like their old Dwarves and Elves but these new models are a class above. I particularly like the Ogres actually from a few years ago.
Elves are too small, they tried to make them so they would fit into Lord of the Rings and WFB, but it didn’t work. I’m a fan of the Dwarfs, especially the ones on Badgers!
0:00:00 Today I am taking notes “on the side”. 0:00:24 What? No @avernos @warzan or @lloyd? You’ll have a lot of time to talk and not be talked over? 😉 0:06:40 “Brown defender?” Can anyone provide context?! oO 0:08:00 Hard cut straight to news…. spazmarinzes… yeah, damn hard cut from 40k to 40k XD (So when will there be a new Orc Codex?) 0:15:45 “This is our time… with the SM codex” …. you two need some “alone time” in a cosy dark room? XD *skipping the complete 40k part* 0:58:00 @brennon is back! … Marvel… *sigh* *skip* 1:11:00 Kings… Read more »

Great show. The Hobby weekend was fabulous. Didn’t mind not having a weekender when it’s being replaced by a hobby weekender like that. GW really has revolutionized Space Marines. I’m so glad that they finally seem to have gotten the processes of moving their games and miniature ranges forward without the derailment that was the 8th ed Warhammer to AoS experience. The new models are great, new rules are good and the community support is fantastic. As someone said above, I do wonder about the non-marine ranges however, as they have always played a very distant 2nd place to Space… Read more »
“(is there anyone playing Armada, and even a few who aren’t, that doesn’t want one?)”
My wallet certainly doesn’t, but I give it a 50/50 chance it’ll be disappointed come payday!
Space Marines….. meh
The real Manderin has already appeared. Theres a marvel one shot of fake mandein in prison and he gets a threatening phone call from him.
the new marine stuff looks good the armoured pickup is interesting.
the dragon game sounds really good and the figures look fab.
a great weekender guys.
Good to see the Scifi civilians getting a shout. I’m in for it!
The Desert of the Dead Undead and Elves look fantastic. I’m just a sucker for everythin Egyptian themed.
I also like the 3rd edition of Kings of War. The Northern Alliance looks awesome. I just love the overall feel of the army.
bugger not three weeks ago I bought the Spacemarine book. now another. I hate my timing lol.
@johnlyons I reckon the 6 Supplements they have said they’re doing is the most Codex First Founding Legions. Ultramines, White Scars, Salamanders, Imperial Fists, Raven Guard and Iron Hands. We’ve seen dice labels for Salamanders and GW showed us a Primaris Iron Father.
I reckon this means that the Non Codex compliant (Wolves, Dark and Blood Angels, Deathwatch and Grey Knights will stay their own Codexes as they are too divergent.
Just my opinion.
