From the lands of the frozen North comes the mighty Empire of Khador! These guys are fighting for the honour of the motherland and forging a path to glory with a whole bunch of new toys in Warmachine Vengeance!
So, it's time for Justin and Kev to settle in once again and have a look at the new warriors and warmachines for Mother Russ...err, Khador. It looks like they're getting a more refined Butcher and Justin's favourite Warjack the Grolar!
I have tried out the Grolar with a proxy several times, don’t concentrate on the gun, this is just an extra to burn off excess focus. The hammer is the name of the game, and this thing can threaten models like no other Khador Jack can. I have taken out a Stormclad, knocked down another heavy, and then pummeled a Caster that was hiding behind the other Jack. It is focus hungry but, in 1 jack Khador it brings a lot for the investment. It is a competitor for the Spriggan easily, less focus efficient, but cheaper and gives more… Read more »
Thanks Justin for the Warmahordes content, I know you’re struggling to get people locally interested but I’m loving the coverage. Next step: hosting you’re own beginners guide!
beginners guide might be a good idea, id say it might be cool to run it like a journeyman with myself and a co-host gong through the system, what do you think?
Definitely, I think Warmachine is one of those tabletop games that benefits massively from having a friend (or video) showing you how to play. If you get a co-host and run through some basic games that would be great. Nice thing about the journeyman structure is how it steadily increases your army size which is perfect. Synergy is key in Warmachine so starting small is the best way (I found) and then building in size as you learn.
Having a beginner series to point people to would help me getting more involved in Warmachine a lot!
@Justin,
That is something I could help you with mate, if you want.
My local refuses to play Butcher 3 currently because he is rediculous. We faced him in a tournament and the Kador player moved slightly too far and when it came time for impending doom that ended the Harbinger even though she was very far back.
I actually thought the new jack was quite good as it seemed different. However I dona’t play Khador so knowing how focus starved the faction along with not been able to easily buff the Rat I guess it’s quite circumstantial. Anyway, bring on cryx. 😉
