20mm modern wargaming

So I have tried a couple ways to create the camo pattern and have not been happy with any of them. Part of the issue is I’m not managing to make the right colour tones and part due to my painting skill.
I think 20mm is just to small for me to try to recreate a camo pattern on. So I am just going to try to come up with something that looks deserty.
@marsniper27 – Over half my moderns are 20mm in Desert (US Army, Marine Corps, Iraq / Afghanistan) – Yes, you are totally right, at scales that small it’s all about “faking” it. You want the general feel AT A DISTANCE of the camo, not a scaled recreation. 😀 In other words, don’t stress it. 😀 “Something that looks desert-y” is the way to go. I think I used a sandy tan, some stripe-ish blobs of darker “caramel” brown, and some very small dots of black (or very very dark gray). The last guy I attempted to paint the brown I had was way to strong and overpowered the rest of the colours I had. I need to buy some more appropriate colours as I usually only get about a half hour to paint before getting interrupted by kids and mixing paint is not working out for me when I have to keep making more constantly.
