Heavy Gear is coming to Europe!

For those Europeans looking for a dose of US mech-mashing Heavy Gear we have some enticing news.
Rumours have reached us that the guys a Dream Pod 9 have tied up an exclusive distributing deal with a UK company... it's not clear who it is yet, but the sensible money would say they'll be one of the big online distributors... if not the biggest!
Here's a quick look at some of the stuff you can expect to be hitting the shelves soon.
I'm looking forward to getting some of these without having to pay the serious P&P costs from the US.
What do you guys think?

Dream Pod 9 is actually a Canadian company. We in the US simply have better access. 🙂
Canadian eh!
That would explain the nasty P&P… for some reason our Commenwealth partners like to stick the oar in, when it comes to posting to the UK.

This big UK distributor had better get on with talking to you guys so they can maximize early sales and introduce guys like me into whatever it is.
Used to be really into the HG RPG back when they were using the Silhouette system, and had quite a few of their older Northern and Southern gears to go with it (although they always seemed to lack detail when compared with the stuff other companies were putting out at the time). The setting wont have changed (which is good, the fluff for the factions on Terra Nova was always extremely good) so I will be very interested to check out Heavy Gear Blitz as the gears on DP9’s site are looking much sharper in the photos. My only complaint?… Read more »
Awesome! 😀 about bloody time to!
They’re not my thing, but I must admit the minis aren’t bad… And you could even use them as proxies for Infinity, if you were so inclined, or perhaps if you wanted to design your own TAGs… Infinity’s a little complex, but it’s possible.
Oh nice, I may actually buy a few Mamuts I always wanted.
Don’t know what they do and don’t care actually, they look great though.
I don`t know if i like it. The quick overlook over the rules seems nice…but mechs(i know here they are gears) with rollerblades? COME ON! i Want jump packs…i want chicken legs and i want ppg guns ;)…and i might wanna have hexfields! 😉
There’s no denying that the Gear’s alternate locomotion system (which CAN include other forms of movement if configured that way) is a little odd at first. But I guess visually and thematically it’s always been a bit closer to modern anime than Mechwarrior has. Heck, search YouTube for Heavy Gear Promo Reel to see a video that was produced prior to the release of the so-so HG animated series. It highlights the main difference between Gears and Mechs – the scale is totally different. Gears are smaller, faster and more nimble (Striders, less so) and move like powered armour, even… Read more »
Great game! I saw thees guys at an anime convection last year, and because of it me and my buddies were hooked! It’s a really fun game and it was simple to pick up. We still had to dumb down the rules a bit for the first couple of games… But it was still a lot of fun.
I’m also a huge fan of it being a Canadian company! [not that I’m biased or anything…]
When the range becomes available in the UK and easier / cheaper to buy i would like to see a few ‘how to’ vids if you would oblige BOW?
i would love to see some of this stuff… and on the Using them as proxies i dont think that is possible because if memory serves arent they 12 mm scale…
