@cpauls1 see the “What are you painting now thread” as it was recently posted today.

Overall I like them. I have used them on two different primers – the wraithbone GW spray, and the vallejo neutral grey.

So – the science! The really smooth primer surface of the GW sprays are good for the flow, but… means you can get blotchiness unless you are careful. But my Genestealers from the same boxed game are looking good and just need some highlighting now to tidy up the effect.

On the terminators the vallejo grey primer (which is my go to brand of can primer) has ever so slight roughness, a keying. This helps break the surface tension of the contrast so the blotchiness is gone. This does mean you make still need to do edge highlights as the contrast paint doesn’t retract as it would on a smooth surface to leave the natural highlight.

So horses, courses, and lots to play with. As a tool for quick painting? Well it saved my cracking out the airbrush as I normally would. And the tabletop ready look is fine.

I will be next painting the entire Conquest boxed game I have a review copy of.
