@unclejimmy – No worries at all, sir. I suspect those are the kind of videos that are better to “listen to” whole painting or cleaning up the house, etc, rather than sit riveted to the screen in breathless suspense. 😀 I also have three set up for a Valor & Victory 1967 Vietnam game with @stvitusdancern on the Sitrep Channel. I’m trying to get better at editing, cutting down to 30 mins or less (tough thing for a game that ran over nine hours) and put in jokes and sound effects bits to break up the monotony.
I like the big HVAC unit on the roof of the building. Yes, adds realism and also terrain and cover for game purposes. Also the pallets. Great scatter terrain touch. And I love that technical! That poor thing looks like it would flip over if fired to the side, which is exactly how these vehicles look when you see them in Syria, Libya, Somalia, and other hotspots. That a Zu-23 autocannon?
@rasmus and I have used ZU-23-2s on some trucks in the Lebanon 1982 expansion I did for Valor &Victory. He was firing up some of my IDF infantry so I overran the f*cker with one of my M113 Zelda APCs. CRUNCH! Not my smartest move, but it was fun.
Eggs and cheese for breakfast. Better than what I had. 😀
I would really love to take part in one of your game…someday.
If you want, I can add you to the e-mail list. Just ping me your e-mail in a PM. We do at least one, sometimes two games a week. everyone gets an e-mail usually on Wednesday or Thursday with a listing of what’s on offer. Sometimes we do it on Twitch *(which is a “twitchy” piece of software, not everyone has a good experience with it), but you can just hang out in our web conference and watch some of a game live if you ever want, chat with us, talk for a few minutes. All you really need to take part or even just hang out and chat is an internet connection. No accounts, no Twitch, no Discord, no software downloads, etc.
If anyone has a use for them just let me know before I put the up for offers. – those are an eminently “useful” model of tank … as the type represented was ubiquitous from mid 1943 onward. What scale are they?
He looked exactly like white Jesus. Maybe that has something to do with his skill? – Well, if he starts painting minis while walking on water, that will be a clue.
@cpauls1 – Interesting idea about using Darkstar for Traveller. Darkstar … specifically its starship design / creation spreadsheets, was created with the long-term view of possibly adapting to other IPs, especially Star Trek, Star Wars, BSG, Space Battleship Yamato, and others. The system is ready for it, if you’re ever interested.
The system also has rules for contested docking (very difficult to do if the enemy ship isn’t crippled), and boarding actions, but they practically never happen.
I like the trooper minis, especially the improvised / kit-bashed weapons load outs and the deck plate bases!
Ah, gentleman’s club stories. You guys need to come to South Florida one of these days, the laws here are extremely lax about that kind of thing. You’ll be ruined for life. Of course, it helps to have a taste for Caribbean and South American flavor, if you take my meaning …
