My last full unit finished for the Warlord Games Open Day on Saturday, 20th July, in Nottingham.

The is a Swedish Cavalry unit, the Uppland regiment, stationed on the right flank of Gustav Adolf’s army at Lutzen. In Schiller’s History of the Thirty Years War he describes the Swedish cavalry attacking with “the fury of lions” as they attempted to avenge the death of Gustav Adolf.

This unit has been made up from the Warlord Games Swedish Cavalry box set. More details and pictures on my blog here:

fantastic work once again, I hope to see plenty of pictures and a report from the front on Saturday. Let’s see if Gustavus can keep his powder dry and blood inside his body this time 🙂

They look brilliant and a great little write up on your blog. I do like your use of the various blues to represent the different ages of clothing, something I am trying to do with my WW2 Germans. Bravo and have a great day on Saturday!

@avernos, thanks, Gerry! I will try to take plenty of pictures of the battle on Saturday, and report back. Gustav Adolf managed to survive the day at Salute. Let’s see if he can do it again, and perhaps break the Imperial lines this time too!

@robert, thanks! It is a challenge to try and make a unit look uniformed, but not too uniform 😉
