Take The Fighting To PWork Wargames’ Industrial Ruins Mat

PWork Wargames are getting folks ready to delve into some games of Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse with a rather fitting mat. Check out the Industrial Ruins design which we've pulled from the archives to show off.
The mat comes in a variety of different sizes but if you're looking to dive into a big game of Apocalypse you'd want to plump for the 6x4 version for sure. You might even end up doubling that depending on the number of players you've got involved.
You can see the mat in action in some of the images below which show off how it looks alongside some figures.
I think it works alongside a lot of the Citadel buildings very well and a blasted landscape seems like the perfect place for there to be a clash between massive armies. Utterly devastated terrain works well alongside an utterly devasted gaming mat.
The larger areas of 'hazard' markings could be used as a good guide as to where you put your buildings too as they've done here. You could imagine them being the factory floor of some massive Titan or Knight factorum which is ripe for the plundering.
A smaller version of this mat would also be good for those playing Killteam and especially Necromunda. Industrial Ruin is pretty much what the gangs of Necromunda spend their time wandering through on a daily basis so it seems like a perfect match. You could even make some of the areas on the board more hazardous with radioactive material the like which is starting to warp and mutate those who go too close!
What do you make of the Industrial Ruins mat?
"...a blasted landscape seems like the perfect place for there to be a clash between massive armies"
A great mat that will come to life with ruble and building remains scattered around.
I picked this up and used it for a Fallout Wasteland Warfare scenario, the quality of it is nice and it came out well with houses and rubble on top.
