Black Site Studio Delve Into New Arkand Crypt Terrain!
July 8, 2019 by crew
Black Site Studio have really pushed the boat out with their new terrain as they take us dungeon delving with their stunning looking Arkand Crypt selection of terrain!
This picture already gives you a taste of just how intense this new terrain set is. It gives you an exceptionally good looking set of dungeon terrain for you to go adventuring in. It can be locked together in lots of different ways too meaning that it has plenty of replay value and you can even descend levels with it!
As someone who loves my dungeon delving, I can't begin to express just how awesome this set is. I love all of the detail work that has gone into the wall sections, floors and the scenery elements like pillars and the different offshoot rooms where nefarious deeds are being done.
As I mentioned above, the dungeon goes come with that first Stair section which allows you to start off the dungeon delve. But, if you're looking to be a bit more ambitious you could use multiples of those to create winding staircases that go a lot deeper and make things even more dynamic and 3D too!
All of the pieces can be snapped up individually for when you need to step up your dungeon game, but the core Starter Bundle is also available to give you rather fancy looking dungeon, to begin with.
It might not be Dwarven Forge but this stuff looks incredibly good and it's also coming in at a fraction of the cost! I think a bit of quick painting would also help elevate the piece with an airbrush but you could also get away with playing on it unpainted too I reckon.
What do you make of the Arkand Crypt?

The terrain would fit in to many games like D&D, zombies, or even 40K STC/relic hunting.
KoW Vanguard could use these as well
I notice that the floors of these dungeon pieces are elevated. I estimate that the floors are elevated about 1″, which might mean that they are compatible with the Black Site Studio modular tiles. I went and took a look at Dwarven Forge and i think the price is comparable and that there are pros and cons to both. I wouldn’t say either are ‘top end’ and so i think that there is a good chance i’d opt for this out of the two as i think i could customise this more easily. BTW, i think that these pictures are… Read more »
The colour photo makes them look good because of the lighting, but I’ve never seen anyone use lighting at the table.
MDF is ok for cheap terrain but resin looks far better painted… if you can afford it.
Great kit. Perfect dungeon crawling set. Black site studio just keep moving forward with better and better kits
