Games Workshop is making those that love nature very happy this weekend as they fire up pre-orders for the new Sylvaneth Battletome amongst other goodies.

Sylvaneth Battletome - Age Of Sigmar

The new Battletome comes with lots of fancy new rules for you to play around with when it comes to the Sylvaneth. As well as a new leader that you can see on the cover, there will be plenty of additional goodies included which allow you to make themed armies.

If there was one army which was made to be used with the new Contrast Paints from Games Workshop, it was the Sylvaneth. I think you're going to be able to make some great looking armies using those new colours. I'm a big lover of the Sylvaneth as a faction as I think they are interesting enough miniature-wise plus you aren't being inundated with choices when you pick them as an army, something which I think works against the likes of the Stormcast Eternals.

The Woods Come Alive

As well as the new book there's also a set of new miniatures coming to support the living forest. First up we have the new Endless Spells for the Sylvaneth.

Sylvaneth Endless Spells - Age Of Sigmar

Each of these throws a new twisted spell into the mix for your force, including awakening some strange creatures from the undergrowth. Once again, these look perfect for a splash of Contrast paint!

The Awakened Wyldwoods have been updated too with some larger trees as you'll see here.

Awakend Wyldwoods - Age Of Sigmar

These new trees are quite the enhanced version of the original Citadel Woods that players had to use when they picked up the Sylvaneth as an army. They have been given that 'heroic' look and brought in line with the proportions of Age Of Sigmar.

On top of the miniatures and scenery, you've also got a whole bunch of Warscroll Cards and fancy Dice too! I'd love to know how these are used in game...

...and how they are going to completely baffle your opponent when you break them out. They do look very nice though! One assumes that the number of leaves on the images marks the various pips and the skull/swirl works as either your one or six.

What do you make of the new Sylvaneth goodies coming your way?
