Wriggle Forth To War In Wormlord!

It has long been thought that earthworms were slow creatures with no ambition. It is not so. They dream of conquering the world but suffer from internal conflicts that prevent their great project from taking shape: the reds are convinced that it is up to them to lead the troops. Same for the blues. And the greens. Not to mention the yellows. It was therefore inevitable that they come to blows. Wormlord tells their story.

Wormlord is the latest game announcement from Belgian publisher Sit Down! (Magic Maze, Sushi Dice). In Wormlord, players simultaneously place knots to conquer areas on the board. Players can remove opponents knots and return them, thereby removing control from the space and opening up a challenge. Conquer the required objective spaces in your game to be declared the winner!

Details are still scarce, but Wormlord appears to be a quick placement game for 2-8 players that relies on dexterity and spatial awareness. Personally, the artwork and theme gave me a nostalgic throwback to the video game Worms. Sadly, that's where the similarity ends.

Wormlord will be launching at Spiel 2019 so, until then, keep an eye on the Sit Down! website for further information.
