In most of my painting I use a lot of high contrast layers and glazes, and had a feeling contrast paints, and especially contrast medium could be great for this.

I used dry brushing techniques to go from dark blue to white on my Marine, and then started mixing GW glaze and contrast medium to make a subtle glaze. I became increasingly bold mixing more and more regular GW layer paints and medium together to make my own versions of the contrast colours, and love the way the paint performed. I’ve used pledge, varnish, and flow improver to make my own glazes before, and like them, but I can see myself using the contrast mix a lot more in future.

I’m looking forwards to trying the contrast paints proper out over some airbrushed zeniths at some stage too. I’m surprised and impressed with the contrast experience so far.
