Last year, the corporate Cthulu that is Asmodee grew yet another tentacle with the creation of Asmodee Entertainment, a facet of the larger Great Old gaming giant devoted to "extend Asmodee's leading intellectual properties into TV/film, book and comics publishing, location based-entertainment, and consumer products, working in parallel with sister platforms Asmodee Boardgames and Asmodee Digital."

Well now, this latest succubus feeler has risen from the deep, clutching within it's grasp Alan R. Moon's classic board game Ticket to Ride, which will be transformed into a brand new TV show where opposing teams will complete epic challenges and travel the world, attempting to rack up the greatest amount of miles in a winner-takes-all series.

Asmodee Entertainment will be collaborating with Propagate for the series, the studio behind such content as Haunted, Lore, and...Vivica's Black Magic, apparently. Asmodee's president Stéphane Carville has said of the collaboration: Asmodee Entertainment will develop new and exciting entertainment experiences based on the vibrant universes of our popular games. We are delighted to bring one of our most iconic properties to life with the help of our visionary partners at Propagate. We look forward to future collaborations.

Personally, I can't help but feel a little dismayed by this announcement, and I fail to see anything more than a tedious train-themed link between the board game and this potential plot of the TV series. Roll on a Mansions of Madness TV series instead, and let the will of Cthulu loose on our screens. All hail Asmodee...ahem. I mean, Azathoth.
