Mantic’s Blog Dives Into Walking Dead: Call To Arms Week
June 27, 2019 by brennon
Mantic Games has been delving into a week dedicated to the new expansion to The Walking Dead called Call To Arms. This expands the game from a smaller narrative experience to a proper skirmish game where whole gangs are going up against each other and the Walkers.
A few blog posts have already gone up this week looking at an introduction to the ethos behind the game, an interview with Mark Latham who designed Call To Arms and also a sneak peek at how you build your gangs alongside faction rules.
As well as their blog diving into more detail about the game, Ronnie has also sat down in two videos to give you a few more snippets about the game too. This seems like a good next step for people who might have everything in the Walking Dead line-up and are now looking for something different.
Could you be tempted to dive into this larger scale skirmish game from Mantic which brings together everything they've released over the past few years? Or, are you quite content to play through the more personal experiences?

I like the personal experiences of both the starter set and the expansions, and also the thrill of playing in a very confined area as in Here´s Negan. I´m rather excited to learn what new elements will find an entry into Call to Arms. One thing I enjoyed with Here´s Negan is, for instance, that you have two instead of one AIs in the game. Walkers and… Read more »
Love the system and having been playing with the beta version I have to say I love the changes as well to bring it up to a full wargame
Thank you for your reply.
Are there changes only or is there something new, too? In the video the man said there´s just gang fighting gang. Will there still be character cards? Are there any walkers shambling about? Is there a new emphasis on using walkers as weapons? What about concepts like noise, threat and such like? Are they still important?
If you are allowed to, please give mus and me a very little teaser.
Well first off it was the beta rules so what I’m about to say may have changed. There are character cards, there will be sets for lawful and evil if you already own TWD minis. There are some stat changes and new equipment. the base game plays on the 20×20 but bigger is better and there are now range bands for weapons so further away you may find it harder to make your shot. Walkers move once a turn from sounds so one walker won’t get catapulted across the table but you can still use them. Also there are now… Read more »
may be interesting having grimes troops verses Negan’s troops.
